Abdul-Muyeed Chowdhury

Chairman

Mr. Abdul-Muyeed Chowdhury is a distinguished leader with a diverse portfolio of roles in corporate and public sectors. He currently serves as Chairman of Omera Petroleum Limited, a subsidiary of MJL Bangladesh PLC, and is also the Chairman of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. He brings extensive leadership experience, having held prominent roles across various corporate entities, including GrameenPhone Limited, ACI, Tiger Tours Limited, MJL Bangladesh PLC, Omera Cylinders Limited, and Omera Gas One Limited.

Azam J Chowdhury

Director

Mr. Azam J Chowdhury is an elite industrialist and entrepreneur in Bangladesh. He is the Chairman and owner of East Coast Group. Mr. Chowdhury is the Chairman of Prime Bank Limited and The Consolidated Tea & Lands Company Bangladesh Limited (formerly, James Finlay Limited). He is also the Managing Director of MJL Bangladesh Limited- Distributor of Exxon Mobil Corporation in Bangladesh.

Tanjil Chowdhury

Mr. Tanjil Chowdhury joined the Board of Omera Petroleum Limited on 25 October 2012 representing MJL Bangladesh Limited. Mr. Chowdhury is the Chairman of Prime Bank Limited. He is the Managing Director of East Coast Group, a diversified conglomerate with more than 30 years of experience in Oil & Energy sector. He is also the Managing Director of Bangladesh Trade Syndicate Limited – a representative of TNT International Express in Bangladesh.

Richard Verbove

Director

Mr. Richard Verbove joined the Board of Omera Petroleum Limited on August 27, 2015 as a Nominee Director of FMO. He is also a Director of Business Support Organization since 2006. He was the project manager of CrowdNett at Eneco form March 2017 to January 2019. Before assuming this role, he was part of the International support at Rijk Zwaan from February 2016 to February 2017.

Bahaeddine Mohamed Aboul Nasr Bassatne

Baha Bassatne exudes the same enthusiasm and energy that has propelled his family business, BBEnergy, into one of the world’s leading independent energy trading companies. Mr. Raed Bassatne joined the Board of Directors of Omera Petroleum Limited as Nominee Director of BB Energy (Asia) Pte. Ltd. Mr. Bassatne is the Business Development Manager and Family Office Director for BB Energy, a multinational leading independent energy trading company, operating in the Oil & Gas industry since 1963.

Professor Nausheen Rahman

Director

Prof. Nausheen Rahman is an Independent Director of MJL Bangladesh PLC, the parent company of Omera Petroleum Limited. In compliance with the Corporate Governance Code of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission published on 3 June 2018, the Board its 45th meeting held on 29 March 2023 adopted Prof. Nausheen Rahman as a nominated Director of Omera Petroleum Limited.

Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA

Independent Director

Mr. Anwaruddin Chowdhury FCA is an Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Omera Petroleum Limited. He is also an Independent Director of Omera Cylinders Limited. Prior to join here, Mr. Chowdhury served as an Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Prime Bank PLC till June 2024. In the past, he served as a Director on the Board of National Housing Finance PLC and other corporate Entities i.e. Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC, Power Grid Bangladesh, Dhaka WASA, Water Development Board.

Dr. Sadia Noor Khan

Independent Director

Dr. Sadia Noor Khan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Banking & Insurance of University of Dhaka. She holds both a BBA and an MBA from the same department at the University of Dhaka and has earned her PhD in Finance from Kobe University in Japan, with a focus on SME financing in Bangladesh. During her PhD studies, she was honored with the JASSO award for her outstanding academic performance. Prior to joining the University of Dhaka, Dr. Sadia served as a faculty member at South-east University.
